About
Jennine Hunter is a seasoned mortgage and community lending professional with more than 30 years of experience in the housing and financial services industries. She began her mortgage career in 1995 with Household Finance Corporation and became a mortgage broker in 1996. Throughout her career, Jennine has maintained a strong commitment to helping first-time homebuyers navigate the path to sustainable homeownership. Her broad industry experience also includes more than 18 years as a licensed Realtor, giving her a unique understanding of both the real estate and mortgage sides of the homebuying process.
Following the 2008 housing market crash, Jennine expanded her expertise by working as a HUD contractor with the FHA Resource Center. In this role, she researched and interpreted FHA guidelines for loan processors, underwriters, housing professionals, and members of the public. This experience strengthened her technical knowledge of FHA lending and deepened her understanding of the role housing policy plays in expanding access to homeownership.
In 2018, Jennine relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where she joined Citizens Trust Bank as a Residential Loan Officer specializing in Community Lending. Her work focused on connecting individuals and families with mortgage financing and homeownership opportunities, particularly within communities that have historically faced barriers to accessing traditional financial services.
In 2022, Jennine became Assistant Vice President and Community Lending Specialist with United Community Bank. In this role, she helped establish and expand Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities throughout the Metro Atlanta market, cultivating relationships with community organizations, housing professionals, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders committed to increasing access to homeownership.
Today, Jennine continues her mission through her work with the Silverton Homeownership Center, helping underserved individuals and families overcome barriers to homeownership and gain access to the education, resources, and financing opportunities needed to purchase and sustain a home.
In addition to her mortgage lending expertise, Jennine is a Certified HUD Housing Counselor with NID-Housing Counseling Agency. She leverages her experience to educate prospective homebuyers on budgeting, credit management, mortgage readiness, and down payment assistance programs. She regularly conducts homebuyer education seminars and participates in community initiatives designed to expand homeownership and promote generational wealth building.
Jennine is also an active member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). At the national level, she serves as a member of the Mortgage Committee. Locally, she serves as Political Action Chair and is a member of the Faith-Based Committee, supporting advocacy, education, and community engagement efforts that advance sustainable homeownership.
Throughout her career, Jennine has remained committed to one central mission: making homeownership more accessible, understandable, and achievable—especially for first-time buyers and underserved communities—and using homeownership as a foundation for building lasting generational wealth.
