Many family law professionals recommend 'reunification therapy' for families where child has become estranged, resistant, or fearful of a parent after experiences such as abuse, neglect, high-conflict separation/divorce, domestic violence, or prolonged relational rupture. But are you recommending the right kind of therapy and is it being conducted by the right professionals so that it has the highest chance of success? Its defining feature is that psychological safety and trauma recovery come before reunification. Contact is rebuilt only when it is developmentally appropriate and emotionally safe for the child. Trauma-informed reunification therapy is a specialized, child-centered therapeutic process. Join us for this informative presentation by Amicable Divorce Network member, Lindsey Mart. Lindsey is a holistic minded practitioner with training in Internal Family Systems (Level 1), Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mental Health Integrative Medicine, and Complex Trauma. Her focused areas of treatment include women’s issues, trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression, and communication. She holds a Master’s degree from Clemson University in Community Mental Health Counseling and is licensed in both Georgia and South Carolina. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, Lindsey is also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor and is available for supervision and trainings. She is the owner of Connected Counseling and Wellness in Georgia.
