Beermann LLP has built its reputation as a premier divorce and family law firm, providing comprehensive legal services and earning recognition for its excellence and professionalism.
With approximately 20 years of experience practicing family law, Jared is widely recognized by his peers for integrity and excellence. His extensive trial experience in financial and custody matters informs his success in alternative dispute resolution. He has litigated cases involving closely held businesses, complex real estate transactions, tracing of income, marital and non-marital asset disputes, dissipation claims, and valuations of personal property, including wine collections, valuable jewelry, art, and antiques. He has also handled cases with significant child support and maintenance awards, factoring in the lifestyles of both parties and the children.
In custody disputes, Jared has addressed issues involving mental health, substance abuse, allocation of parenting time, out-of-state relocations, UCCJEA jurisdiction disputes, orders of protection, and major medical decisions, including elective procedures and vaccinations. His background as a Guardian ad Litem and child representative in Cook County provides him with valuable insight into advocating for children and navigating family law matters effectively.
Jared’s ability to analyze and predict likely trial outcomes strengthens both his preparation for litigation and his approach to settlement negotiations. His strategic insight helps clients make informed decisions, balancing the risks and rewards of trial against potential settlement opportunities. Jared believes strongly in preparation, embracing John Wooden’s philosophy that "failing to prepare is preparing to fail." His competitive nature drives him to work hard and smart, ensuring no detail is overlooked in pursuit of the best outcomes for his clients.
Jared is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and serves as the Chairman of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee for the Illinois chapter. He also serves as a member of the Executive Board for the Illinois chapter. He has chaired the CLE committee since 2023 and was the co-moderator of the AAML President's Day CLE in February 2024 and the Columbus Day CLE in October 2024 and October 2025.
Jared served on the National Arbitration Committee for the AAML, reflecting his deep involvement in shaping arbitration practices at both state and national levels. He is a licensed family law arbitrator through the AAML, bringing expertise to complex financial and custody matters.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Jared attended the University of Texas for his undergraduate education. A dedicated football fan, he remains loyal to the Longhorns and the Cowboys, despite the challenges faced by both teams in recent decades. Outside of work, Jared enjoys the outdoors, including hiking, camping, fishing, and backpacking. Growing up in a family business, he gained an early understanding of the dynamics and complexities involved in running a family enterprise—insight that serves him well in handling business-related family law matters.

He takes pride in the outstanding team of partners, associates, and paralegals he has worked with at Beermann for nearly two decades.
